Women’s Health Goulburn North East is an incorporated association, governed by a Board of volunteers, which is elected by our members. And we’re currently on the lookout for women* who have an understanding of and commitment to our vision and principles to become new Board members.


*Woman: anyone who identifies as a woman, regardless of their sex or the gender assigned to them at birth.

About the Board

The role of the Board is to oversee and monitor the overall performance and compliance of WHGNE and drive the strategic direction of the organisation.

The Board is also responsible for:

  • Working with the CEO to enable the organisation to obtain the resources, funds and personnel necessary to implement the organisation’s strategic objectives.
  • Implementing, maintaining and refining a system of good governance that is appropriate for the organisation.
  • Reviewing reports and monitoring the performance of the organisation.
  • Regularly reviewing the board’s structure and composition, so that these are appropriate for the organisation.
  • Appointing and managing the performance of a suitable CEO.
  • Succession planning for the CEO and Board.

Composition of the Board

The skill set of the Board is diverse and varied. We recruit new members from a variety of backgrounds ranging but not limited to:

  • Public health
  • People Management
  • Law
  • Health Promotion
  • Accounting & finance
  • Communications
  • Public Policy
  • Governance
  • Regional Expertise

Board members will ideally be drawn from those living and/or working in the Goulburn and Ovens-Murray (North East) region of Victoria.
